Overview
The Primos Shooting Stick (Trigger Stick) and Treestand Attachment is well made, functional, tall, and stable. It did exactly what I needed it to do after drawing a gun hunt this last season. I usually do not gun hunt, so when I drew one, I wanted to hunt similar to the way I do with my bow, but I was not sure how to stabilize my rifle from my hang-on treestand. This worked great, and I would recommend it to anyone else looking for a similar solution.

Primos Shooting Stick and Treestand Attachment
$45-$60 depending on short or tall, and $24 for the Treestand AttachmentPrimos Shooting Stick (Trigger Stick) and Treestand Attachment are purchased separately. The shooting stick can be used for spot and stalk type hunts and stands on the ground like a normal one, or you can remove the bottom piece and put on the Treestand Attachment.
- Tall option
- Trigger allows the shooting stick to be quickly and easily adjusted or collapsed
- Flexible base for Treestand Attachment
What we liked:
I am 6’ 4” tall and was worried I would not find a shooting stick that was tall enough for me, but the long option of this Primos Trigger Stick worked well. It is much lighter than a bipod or tripod but not quite as light as my carbon fiber shooting stick.
Once I got positioned in my treestand, I put the two sides under my feet and was pretty comfortable with it, ready to go during extended full-day hunts. The flexible base on the Treestand Attachment is designed very well and allows stable shots from many seated positions. I even used this when hanging out in a brush blind I built for a day.
Overall the trigger stick worked great, I got a nice buck while using it, and I would buy it again.
Who we think will like this product:
Spot and Stalk style hunters looking for a good stabler shooting stick that can easily adjust the height with the trigger option or those hunting from the ground or a treestand and want to use the Treestand Attachment to create a stable and flexible base.
Pros
- Trigger works very well for adjustments
- Tall option
- Quick detach yoke to switch from optics to gun rest easily
- The Treestand Attachment works very well. It has a flexible base, so you can easily pivot it into just about any position you can imagine.
Cons
- Not as light as my other carbon fiber shooting stick
- Other reviews online indicate people have had issues with quality, although I have not experienced that, I have not owned it for a long time
- When turning the rest by the handle, a slight noise is made. I am used to bowhunting and still hunt in that style, even with a gun, so the noise is a concern for me.
